J.T. & Son's Development Group ("MarKey," "we," "our," or "us") operates the MarKey mobile application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using MarKey, you agree to the practices described below.
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: email address, phone number (for verification and fraud prevention), and any optional profile fields (display name).
- Payment information: When you purchase coins, the transaction is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive a confirmation receipt and the SKU of the purchase. We never see or store your credit-card number.
- Referral codes: If you use a friend's code to sign up, we record that code so we can grant the referral reward.
- Communications: If you contact our support, we receive the contents of that message and your email address.
1.2 Information We Collect Automatically
- Device identifiers: a hashed device fingerprint and IP address hash, used to detect and prevent referral fraud.
- Usage data: episodes viewed, watch time, scroll behavior, taps on calls-to-action — used to improve recommendations and detect content performance.
- Push notification tokens: issued by Apple Push Notification Service or Firebase Cloud Messaging when you allow notifications.
- Crash and diagnostic logs: error reports if the app crashes, including device model, OS version, and stack trace.
1.3 Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect precise location data (GPS).
- We do not collect contacts, photos, or microphone data.
- We do not collect or process biometric data.
- We do not collect financial account numbers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Process coin purchases and grant unlocks.
- Run the referral program (matching new sign-ups to referrers and granting rewards).
- Prevent fraud and abuse (e.g., detecting bot rings or self-referral attempts).
- Send push notifications about new episodes, if you opt in.
- Improve our content and recommendations (which episodes get watched, where viewers drop off).
- Respond to support requests.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We share your information only with the parties below, and only as needed to operate the Service.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of MarKey, our users, or the public.
4. Data Retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records for tax purposes).
Anonymized usage data may be retained indefinitely for analytics and pipeline improvement.
5. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccuracies in that information.
- Delete your account and associated information.
- Opt out of marketing communications and push notifications (via your device settings).
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a structured format.

5.1 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and Privacy Rights Act, including the right to know which categories of personal information have been collected, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" (we do neither). You may also designate an authorized agent to exercise these rights on your behalf.
5.2 European/UK Users (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing are: (a) consent, (b) performance of a contract (operating the Service), (c) legitimate interest (fraud prevention, analytics), and (d) legal obligation. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
6. Children's Privacy
MarKey is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please email support@markeysocial.app and we will delete it.
MarKey content is rated for ages 17+ and the app store listings reflect this rating.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security practices including: - Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS). - Encryption at rest via Supabase's infrastructure. - Hashed device and IP identifiers (no raw IPs stored). - Row-level security policies restricting which data each user can access.
No system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but we will notify affected users in the event of a confirmed breach as required by law.
8. International Data Transfers
MarKey is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the Service you consent to this transfer.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
